For level 6 students
A fantastic opportunity for final year undergraduate Business School, and new to 2024/2025 undergraduate Law students too, to join a mentoring scheme connected to the IoD (Institute of Directors) to help you get ahead on the career ladder. Get advice and encouragement from a Senior Manager, Director or Chief Executive.
"Every time I met my mentor, I was learning something new. I gained confidence that I never thought I would."
Your mentor will communicate regularly with you during your final year and offer support and guidance as you work towards getting your first graduate level position. This is your chance to express your ideas, career aspirations, ask questions, gain knowledge, learn techniques, and discover the secrets of being successful from a CEO, Managing Director, and/or an Entrepreneur.
Whether studying Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Economics, Hospitality, Tourism, Law or a combination of these subjects, you could have a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience at your finger tips, through your mentor.
"Being part of the mentoring programme and having someone who has been successful in the corporate world to offer advice based on their personal experiences, has been one of the most exciting things of the third year."
We have developed this opportunity together with the Institute of Directors, Europe's largest membership organisation for business leaders. They support 20,000 members through 44 regional branches across the UK, and an international network that covers six continents. Their 100-year success can be measured by the quality of their members, who are some of the most skilled and influential world leaders, from start-up entrepreneurs to directors in the public sector and CEOs of multinational organisations. Find out more about the IoD West Midlands and read more about the scheme on our Business blog.
